Vandals Use Sledge Hammer Smash Oldest Christopher Columbus Monument in Baltimore

A 225-year-old monument to Christopher Columbus, believed to be among the oldest in America, was vandalized over the weekend in Baltimore as the rage against historical figures continues.
It appears no statue is safe in America anymore, at least not if it portrays anyone who the left can demonize for past sins, as a Baltimore monument’s surface was smashed in by a sledge hammer where the surface once read “Sacred to the Memory of Chris. Columbus Oct. XII MDCC VIIIC. “
In place of those words two signs were placed at the base of the monument. One of the signs read, “Racisms: Tear it Down” while the other displayed the text “The future is racial and economic justice”. In other words, the future is a socialist America where the government determines what is “fair” and equal for all citizens. The driving force behind this movement is simply “racism”, as it’s much more convenient to disguise the push for socialism in some sort of social justice message.

The following is a picture of the Christopher Columbus monument in Baltimore before it was vandalized. As you can see, it did not even include a statue of Columbus, but rather just words acknowledging the historical figure.

The perpetrators of the vandalism even took a video of themselves performing the act, which has been making its way across social media.
The video shows a person smashing the Christopher Columbus monument with a sledge hammer while another holds a sign espousing “racial and economic justice”. One of the vandals in the video narrates the criminal act:
“Christopher Columbus symbolizes the initial invasion of European capitalism into the Western Hemisphere. Columbus initiated a centuries-old wave of terrorism, murder, genocide, rape, slavery, ecological degradation and capitalist exploitation of labor in the Americas. That Columbian wave of destruction continues on the backs of Indigenous, African-American and brown people.
“Racist monuments to slave owners and murderers have always bothered me. Baltimore’s poverty is concentrated in African-American households, and these statues are just an extra slap in the face. They were built in the 20th century in response to a movement for African Americans’ human dignity. What kind of a culture goes to such lengths to build such hate-filled monuments? What kind of a culture clings to those monuments in 2017?”
In answer to the vandal’s question, the type of culture that “clings” to these monuments and their historical roots is one that acknowledges the past, rather than trying to destroy whatever elements of history they find offensive.
The narrator also complains about poverty in Baltimore and how it’s “concentrated in Africa-American households.” Interestingly, every major city where this economic inequality exists has been firmly in control of Democrat politicians for decades. Perhaps the cause of these economic issues isn’t historical monuments that have been standing for hundreds of years, but rather the Democrat politicians who are still among the living and have stood by while their policies decimated the population.
After the events in Charlottesville, Baltimore was one of the first cities to announce that they would be removing Confederate monuments in the city, eager to avoid offending the same mobs who have been vandalizing these monuments across the country. So far, crews in Baltimore have removed the following statues: Confederate Generals Robert E. Lee and Stonewall Jackson, the Confederate Women’s monument, the Confederate Soldiers and Sailors Monument and a statue of Supreme Court Chief Justice Roger B. Taney.
The transformation of America that Obama once promised appears to be in full swing, as the useful mobs have been mobilized, unknowingly serving the globalist elite, billionaire corporations and powerful politicians in their quest to bring the United States under the oppressive rule of socialism.
